Questions
Good to know
Who makes the hamper?
Deptford locals who love Deptford and everything it is. We've watched the High Street change over the years, and we're just as excited about the traders who've been here for decades as the ones who've only just opened. Think of this hamper as a way to get to know your neighbourhood, and to bring a little bit of Deptford home to your Christmas table.
Is there an early-bird offer?
Yes. Reserve by 23:59 on Saturday 31 October 2026 and you'll get 15% off the hamper (not delivery) when you pay. The discount is applied at checkout using the link we email you.
What's in the hamper?
Food and goods from the traders, cafés, bars and makers of Deptford High Street: things like coffee, tea, treats and store-cupboard favourites. Each item carries a tag with the trader's name and where to find them, and there's a map of the street inside the lid. We send the full contents list before you pay.
How does reserving work?
Reserving is free and holds your place in our first batch. When early orders open, we email you the contents list and a secure link to pay. If you change your mind, just ignore the email or tell us, and your reservation is cancelled.
When will it arrive?
In December. You choose your delivery date when you pay, and the delivery charge is shown at checkout.
Where do you deliver?
Anywhere in London this Christmas. We're not sending hampers further afield this year, because we want them to arrive in the same state they left the street.
What about allergies and dietary needs?
Every item keeps its own label with ingredients and allergens. Tell us about any allergies when you reserve, and check the contents list we send before you pay. We can't guarantee any hamper is free from a particular allergen.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Send it to any London address and add a free gift message when you pay. We write it on a card and tie it to the hamper with the string, and we check every card is there before the lid goes on.
What if a trader runs out of something?
We swap it for something of the same or higher value from another Deptford High Street trader, and tell you before your hamper is packed.
Will there be alcohol in it?
If a hamper includes drink, the contents list will say so, the buyer and the person receiving it must be 18 or over, and ID may be checked on delivery. You can always ask for an alcohol-free swap.
Is there anything fresh that needs the fridge?
The contents list marks anything that needs chilling and shows best-before dates, so you know what to eat first.
Can I cancel?
Reservations are free and you can cancel any time. Once you've paid, the cancellation terms are shown at checkout. Because hampers contain food that goes off, the usual 14-day right to cancel doesn't cover the perishable items.
Can I order for my team or clients?
Yes. For 10 or more hampers we can do one invoice, delivery to one office or to lots of addresses, and a card with your message. Email hello@deptfordhamper.co.uk.
